The IAFF-FC and Aetna have teamed up to bring IAFF retirees four high-quality, group Medicare Advantage PPO plans. These competitively priced plans are available to Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and their spouses. They all include medical, prescription drug, hearing and vision coverage, plus extra benefits and programs that aren’t available with Original Medicare. Open enrollment for 2021 plans is from August 17 to December 4, 2020.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve teamed up with Aetna to offer Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and their spouses four Medicare Advantage plans designed to take a total approach to health and wellness — offering medical, prescription drug, hearing and vision coverage. These plans are for the Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and spouses who get their insurance on their own in the individual Medicare market, and they provide coverage starting January 1, 2021. Enrollment for new members in these plans is going on now and goes through December 4.

Prescription drug coverage is included in each of the four Aetna Medicare Advantage plans being offered to Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and their spouses. These plans are for retirees who get insurance on their own in the individual Medicare market, and they will provide coverage starting January 1, 2021. Enrollment for new members in these plans is going on now and goes through December 4.

Hearing & vision benefits with the plans

4-5 weeks after initial post

The Aetna Medicare Advantage plans being offered to Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and their spouses includes coverage for both hearing and vision. Members can get a vision eyewear reimbursement of $250 once every 24 months, and a hearing aid reimbursement of $2,000 once every 36 months. Enrollment for new members in these plans is going on now and goes through December 4.

Nurse line benefit

The month of October

The new Aetna Medicare Advantage plans being offered to Medicare-eligible IAFF retirees and their spouses include a 24/7 nurse line if you have after-hours medical questions. This is just one of the benefits included with the plans at no extra cost to you. Enrollment in these plans is going on now and goes through December 4.
